While scrapping I think i may have found a few pieces of molybdenum with possibly tungsten mixed. I don't want to take it to a yard and have someone try to give me aluminum prices for it. What do you guys think is the best way to proceed?

Call up your yard, tell them exactly what you have told us. They will tell you if they are even interested in buying it. If they are, bring them the piece so they can analyze it with a XRF handheld analyzer. This is a type of "gun" looking thing that will show them what type of metals are in the alloy. If your yard has any type of decency, they will show you the results of the test. If there is molybdenum in it, it will read 80% Mo or something, and if the rest is tungston, it should read 20% W .
The scrap yard is a pretty useful place when you want to know the make up of an alloy. Even if you don't plan on selling it, and you just want it assayed.
