    Old 1200lbs government safe/filing cabinet.

    Hello,

Let me start of with this. I am completely and totally new at metal recycling. Now on to my question.

I have been cleaning up the outside of my property, and i was poking around some junk that's been sitting on my the corner of my property in the woods since before i was born. (24 Years) I actually got around to looking at it today and as it turns out is an old 1200 pound 4 door filing cabnent/safe, it looks like it was made in the 1960's or so. It has a weight engraved on it that says about 1150 pounds. Somone has ripped one of the doors off and pried the combination lock of the side of it with a crowbar i think. It appears to be made mostly of steel. I tried everything I could to get into the other drawers on this thing with out much luck. The side of this thing is about 1 1/2 inches of solid steel, by the looks of the ripped of drawer.

So my question.. Is this thing worth trying to take up to the metal recycling place? Do I have to be able to open those drawers? Would would be the best way to sell this?

    Thanks,

    David
