Q about Car petrol tank fuel level sensor & the Platinum containing resistance wire

I read somewhere that the normal car fuel tank sensor has a Platinum containing wire in them.

So I have pulled apart a couple & there is a similar looking blue/grey/silver wire in there. Its pretty thin but not very soft & slightly springy. Like a home electrical fuse wire.

Does anyone know how much Platinum there is in each one?

Or am I chasing up the same tree as the 'A computer harddrive disks surface layer has Platinum in it' theory?
