And 12 8.5lb pieces of 304 and a few pieces of 400 what is the difference in price of these? PS.. I found a few pieces of Monel, what's this worth?

300 series SS is nonmagnetic. 400 series is magnetic. 400 series goes as light iron/shred etc around here. 300 series will be around .35 to .55 a pound. Monel - no idea.

if you are talking about stainless steel 300s, i believe you get quoted at yard for the regular stainless steel grade is 304. And my yard, the maximum allowed is to go down to s/s302 grade, if its 301 then it will be around 100-200 lesser per tonne.
S/s 400s usually fetch slightly higher price than your regular scrap iron but some yard would only give you that "slightly higher" if you have enough quantity. Just alittle info, the more common one are s/s410 and s/s430 and 430 fetch higher scrap value than 410.
That monel is worth a couple of dollar more than ur regular stainless steel so be sure to keep it one apart when you bring it to scrap yard.
