Need for car titles in Iowa

My wife's uncle died. He owned an auto repair garage and has several cars sitting around. His daughter called us today. She can't find all the titles. Does any age of car need a title in Iowa? If anyone is near Red Oak and interested, let me know.

People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

In Pa a title is required regardless of age. But if u cut it up into pieces then there is no problem. No title required. For a dismantled car.

i have always needed a title in iowa cor a car of any age. one yard near me wil only take the car if the title is in your name, but the yard in Missouri is close so all my cars go there and yes over 20 years old no title, or cut in pieces

In Florida you need a title or certificate od distruction from the DMV or you can cut the car in half. This dose not make sence to me because alot of the time a car is stolen it gets cut up anyway.

If he has any friends that are mechanics have them put a mechanics lien on them and get titles that way.

On the news in St Louis the other day they said they are having problems with alot of cars older then 20 years getting stolen they assume they are just getting scrapped.
    So this may change.
