Has anyone used acetone to strip the coating off of wire.I am thinking of getting a small amount and trying it out to see if it works.

The cost of the chemical will far outweigh the profit you gain,
Plus then you have to dispose of the used up acetone safely.

Yea your right,I thought you could use it over and over.Just trying to get around getting a wire stripper I guess.I found a cable about a inch across full of smaller copper wire today about 20 feet long just looking for an easy way out.
I have heard that you can run it thru a cloth and filter the junk out of it and reuse it numerous times.Yea your right,I thought you could use it over and over.
Acetone is nail polish remover - why would that remove insulation from copper wire?
DCM will turn the plastic into a soft spagetti like substance, you'd get #1 berry price for it too.
DCMs expensive............
Actually you don't need acetone to strip clothing of wire, instead used cutter pliers and it is easy to strip wire clothing using this tool.
