That looks like the back side of some RAM sticks which would be gold tipped memory. It sells for much more than gold finger cards. That also looks like a nice black fiber processor. That black fiber processor is worth 1.35+ alone at current prices.

Awesome thanks heaps until recently i was just throwing away boards still keeping them on computers... im gonna get 20 or so cpu's ( once i know what im doing) and then sell them to scrap yards and see if its worth it!Originally Posted by Mudlucky

Yes. Please take the time to read some of the buyers threads on the forum. It will save/make you a lot of money as you will know what things are and what they are worth. I mail a lot of stuff to the buyers on this forum instead of taking it to the yard. Best of luck to you!

Oh, I see you are from Australia. Maybe some of the other Australian members can share where the best yards are, etc. but reading through the buyers threads will help you a lot!!

Ryan go to the electronics recycling section on the home page. Read the sticky on parts identification it will give you all the basic parts and their descriptions. If you can DO NOT sell to scrap yards as most are not paying what the parts are actually worth. Look to find an ewaste company down by you or maybe there is a company that will refine for you. It will take alot of pounds but will be better than selling to a scrap yard. Good luck and please read that section. It will save you $$$ in the long run.

Well that's why i said "learn" but its good you're not the kind of person that throws a bunch of chemicals together and hopes for the best. Sounds like that could turn out a real profitable way of handling parts of your scrap tho.

I don't think anybody there has ever even checked into a container or a partial container shipment, although I've seen numerous posts inquiring about buyers over there. Be nice for you all if somebody would, say in Melbourne or Sidney, and start a thread posting some results of such an inquiry, with prices and requirements ; )Thanks Lucky one problem no aussie buyers
I'd also venture to say that anyone on the west coast of USA, who is buying or refining, is missing a large potential market there, although they could certainly face steep competition from un-regulated places in that direction too

Austraila is getting pretty socialist/nannystate on their regulations , is that why there are no buyers there.?

There regulations are hard with the laws there are HEAPS of e-waste recyclers (big companys) taking it for free but no one whos actually paying for it, laws are abit strict

the big companies are no doubt sending it to china, who no doubt has a stake in the scrap recyclers there too
