I've been finding wire with a gray coating. Where I worked, it was always called silver coated. Is it true, and what is the price on it? If it's not silver, should I keep it separate from my normal copper wire?

Usually that is called "tin coated" where I'm from, and no it is not silver. Occasionally there is aluminum wire, but usually it is just tin coated copper. You need to call your yard, where you plan to sell your wire, and ask if they will let you mix tin coated wire in with your other copper wire. I can mix mine in with my number two copper at my yard.
Also, if you could please pop over and introduce yourself in the area for new folks, that would be greatly appreciated!
