Anyone out there know if there's anything valuable on older furnaces? I get quite a few and so far I've just been cutting off the visible wires and putting the rest with light iron. I know the blower motors inside aren't copper or even worth taking out (after I spent half an hour trying to rip one apart)

The blower motors are in fact worth something... you don't need to strip the motor down, but save up a few.... My scrap yard pays 15 cents a pound for electric motor.. doesn't matter if windings are copper or alum..... a motor is a motor is a motor.. all the same
If it's a gas furnace, there may be brass fittings. Not sure what the burners would be. I took an electric furnace apart and burners were magnetic, though it looked like dull aluminum.
Definitely pull the motor. It adds up quick.

Most furnaces will only have tin value aside from the wire and blower motor. Some furnaces have stainless steel heat exchangers or tubes. Every once in awhile you get lucky and get one with the coil on top.
