Also, Bay Metals only wants to give me like .08c for my boards. I may be new to this but not stupid
My stuff is small lots. As I can only tear down things a little at a time.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
First thing DC, you're gonna need some help. I'm hoping you'll find someone who'll be generous enough with their time to help you get set up and started, possibly another scrapper who'll pick you up or let you know when they're going to the yard, so yall can go there together.
Shelves and benches at a height you can comfortably reach will be very valuable, and with a good eye you(or they) might happen onto things like this most anywhere or anytime. If they are close enough together and organized so you can slide the boxes around instead of having to lift them it will also help a lot. If you have problems finding the things you need to work with being disposed of somewhere, Goodwill, Salvation Army, and Thrift stores might be the place to look, and might even reduce some less attractive tables and shelves for you, and possibly even call you when they find something, if you ask em to.
If the closest yard isn't paying well, the best option there may be to look farther away, it seems the closer you get to larger towns the better their prices become. You may need to save up larger loads to pay for going the distance. Also any computer boards(most any green boards actually, printer boards, hard drive boards, CD/DVD boards etc) are best shipped to buyers here on the forum.
Ads on Freecycle could also net you all the above, and possibly a good bit of scrap computers/material. You can join FC groups in several areas for better coverage of the area/s you're in
You might also find posting on Facebook clubs/groups/ swap shops to be to your advantage
Good luck with it man
