    Rolling Security Gate

    Hello,

At my business, I have a rolling security gate(store front gate) installed that I am looking to get rid of and I thought of scrapping it. It's a manual gate. I have 3 sets; two cover the windows and the third covers the main entrance door. I'm not sure what it's made of. I wanted to know what the scrap value of it might be? Also, I don't have the time or equipment to take it down and bring it to a scrap yard. I would need a scrapper to come and take it. So I know that will affect the price. I'm in the NYC metro area if that helps.

Best I would do on a deal like that is free removal and I keep the items

I am not going to do all the work and then give you the money

I would suggest taking a couple photos and measurements and selling on Craigs for a couple hundred with understanding they have to remove the item

Make sure they have the proper Insurance in case they take out the front window in the process

ok, so what if I decided to take it down myself and go to a scrap yard, how much should I get for it? Not sure of the material though.

Go out and stick a magnet to it. Does it stick or not?

I am sure you could sell it for more than scrap value! What are you going to cover up your windows at night in NYC with when you remove these?

It's magnetic. So I'm guessing it's made of iron.

I didn't know I could get more than scrap value for it. Thought I might sell it for scrap because I don't see these things for sale used.

Post it on Craigslist, for sale. Give the measurements, post photos, removal requirements etc, tag a price on it and see who calls
