    Gold TV Boards? Nahhhhh....

Pulled these from my girlfriends old TV today. Every board has what looks to me like gold tracing on the back. Some of the pictures are not the greatest. I don't have an acid test to confirm (yet) so i'm just trying to see if anyone can chime in and give there opinion. Checked the previous posts, via search, but didn't see anything like these. Any input would be appreciated.

If this is indeed gold, I need to find more of these TV's lol...

Should have just uploaded to photobucket in the first place...sorry about that. Based on appearance alone, and from looking at previous boards with gold tracing, It looks an awful lot like gold to me but I could be wrong.

    Gold TV Boards? Nahhhhh....

It is more likely copper, since there is not really a need for gold plating with that type of board.

Just take a knife and scrape the tracings. If it is def gold color underneath then it is gold. It is not uncommon to find what appear to be Low grade boards but are mid grade low because of the gold tracings. I find a good amount of power boards, hvac related boards, and even the power supply boards that have gold tracings. However finding a buyer that will pay you more because of it may be hard for you to do. I sent pictures in last time of my brown power boards with gold tracings and was quoted $.75/# and Recieved it once i sent them in.

It could be a colored varnish over the copper tracing, just scrape and compare. Like others have said really no need for gold plating here.

The oldest tv that i have seen with gold boards is the back lit hd tvs. But those are not too old, came out right before the flat tvs i believe. Still trying to find one because they have some really nice high grade boards. They are the best tvs i have seen as far as scrap value.

Not gold. If they have any gold trace as Mech suggested, it's nothing worth messing around with.
