See if a magnet sticks to it and if it does it goes in the shred pile for .08-.10 a #.

Your yard might have a category for clad aluminum wire - call them and ask.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

If calling your yard is "not worth" it, then you may want to rethink about scrapping. All yards are different and to figure out how to make the most money out of the stuff you have you should call/go there and find out how their categories work

Bitting my tongue so hard its bleeding. No offence but If a simple phone call is too time consuming I will have to agree with the above post. Good luck

I'm with jord and above poster. It's also apparently not worth the millisecond to use periods between sentences. There is alot of wire worth stripping with effective methods, alot that is exactly the opposite. It's all up to you, personally, scrapping is a hobby for me, and I enjoy doing it...
I'm not trying to be rude about proper grammar, but it's getting just a tad ridiculous.

"thanks for the fast reply " lucky for you that it was not "too time consuming" for the answer to your question to be posted...

Probably was, Jilly, but even phone keyboards have period keys!!! Seriously though, are the school systems that bad these days? Or has technology outdated classic methods of beginning and ending sentences? Perhaps I am behind the times?

Every post I make is from my smart phone! Im rarely on the website. 99% of my forum activity is through my phone. But mistakes do happen at times. I will admit it happens to the best of us! (Aka me)

Anyways, OP, please dont think everyone is ganging up on you. We are not. And i apologize if I sounded rude. We are all here to help. It just sometimes really frustrates and kinda dissaponts me, (maybe, probably others) who are doing this to help support themselves, work their a$$es off and do the most to maximize their profit.

I say this in a kind way, put a little extra effort in! I can guarantee you will really like the outcome, and the self satisfaction of knowing you did a dang good job is ALMOST as good as the cash! For me anyways. I mean it probably took you more time to write the post than it would to make a quick call!

    Anyways, Best of luck eh!

Jord is no longer biting his tongue.

I would like to take my time and thank all you for your replies. I have been scrapping for years I also had a truck and made good money. I did state that I do not have tools or a truck at this time because of job loss. I am very limited to the yard I can go to as I walk with a cart and they do lowball . I also only had about four foot of that wire and with no tools but a utility knife it was very time consuming for the few pennies. Thanks I do hope everyone is doing good. Also if I was so greedy why have I been picking up cans with my cart that is 90% of my scrap nowadays I am basically trying to get busfare and a few pennies I lost everything and I am trying to start over. I am not blaming or complaining just telling my story

Insulated aluminum wire. Clean aluminum wire no plastic same as sheet most times. Insulated is kin to dirty aluminum maybe a little higher paying. Always call . I call or view the website.

I pickup cans too - I actually wander around with bags on sunny days to get a nice walk in, and make some cash doing it. Every penny helps!

If not stated already. You have coax cable wire . Some are steel and some copper. Test and see if a magnet sticks. Cable wire Is found everywhere. Copper type pays good or strip cover . Nice copper wire . Bare bright? I think.
