Interesting Discovery

I have a question about something i found today. I found some candle making gold honeycomb brand new in the package. My question is this, has anyone ever run across this type of material before, and is it indeed pure gold leaf as i suspect it is?

I don't know specifically myself, but I've seen other posts directing people to cut/scratch a small area of the material to see what's underneath. That's what I would do. Or you could go all out and use an acid test for gold.
