    Copper Bus bars

I'm working on a couple of big deals and need some advice. I have access to alot of copper bus bars, maybe 500-1000 lbs. They are attached so they have been bent and drilled already, would there be more value in them, than just scrap copper price? Has anyone had experience with a large quanity of them? Before the question is asked I'm not buying them, just helping, and will get a cut. Can't really say much else but would like some thoughts.

Copper bars pretty well have only one use: electrical equipment.

All I can suggest is that you take a look at what you have in terms of size and straight lengths and take the list to manufacturers in your area who fabricate electrical switchgear. Also, try used electrical equipment places. Some cobble together pieces of switchgear and this can be done with busbars.

Try this link for a listing of used equipment outfits in Indiana. (I don't think they are all electrical, but their names are suggestive of what they deal in.)

EDIT: By straight lengths I mean what you can get out of a piece that is bent. An end user isn't going to want bent pieces but if you zipcut the straight stuff out of the bends then the material becomes more desirable.

Tough to resell unless you get lucky. Any silver tint to the copper? If yes you may have silver coating. $$$$$$

    Check ebay for sold listings

Only other advice is to make some calls for the highest price.

    Good luck

I think you answered your own question, put them in an auction and see what happens.
