What is the value of a Zenith 19" TV from the 1990s?

There is someone in my town that often posts on the Craigslist wanted section, asking for old
Zenith 19" TVs. He specifies late 1990s model and needs a photo of the label on the back of the set.
He offers an unspecified amount of cash. He posts so often that I am wondering what it is he is looking for.
Is there something of special or unique value in this specific model of TV?

Can you post the exact pick? Could be several models. You say he posted pictures, hence me asking.

    Thanks.

I just want you all to know I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight unless we get to the bottom of this mystery.

So, OP, now that you've started this, please tell me:
    (1) What is the craigslist location where he posts these?
    (2) Has he asked for specific model numbers? Or does he just want people to show him the model numbers they have?
    (3) If he asks for specific model numbers, what are they?

Please tell me! Help a sista get some sleep!

Why don't you send him an e-mail and ask him what it is he's looking for. Tell him what you do and can keep an eye out for them, maybe you can trade the tv's for other electronics.

I just can't figure out why somebody would want a Zenith TV from the 1990s! Their CRTs from that period were infamous for their terrible quality. I know Zenith was involved in developing the HDTV standard for the US, but I thought all the earliest high-def TVs in the US, which hit the market in 1998, were made by Japanese companies. Maybe Zenith produced an early high-def TV?

Zenith really got clobbered by the foreign competition during the 1990s. Sadly, one of the great names in American consumer electronics (and the last remaining US company to manufacture its own TVs) went belly-up in 1999. Zenith declared chapter 11 bankruptcy and was taken over by LG (Lucky Goldstar), the Korean electronics manufacturer.

There definitely are some people who collect some weird stuff out there. Unlike me. Nothing at all weird about collecting dirty old dead computers.

Or maybe he's a spy and those ads are messages to set up a drop.

There has got to be some interesting backstory here... Wanting late 1990s Zenith TVs is just not normal.
