    lead wheel weight price?....

I just started to collect lead wheel weights. I was curious how much is the difference if I leave the steel clips on? I do not have access to any tools at this time or way to melt and seperate the two. Thanks

I get .25 lb for them lead with steel attached.
Melting off the lead can kill you if you do not have the proper system and ventilation .. so just take them off the rims, toss them in a bucket and take the .25 or whatever it is you can get for them.
    Just my .02

My core buyer will ding me .05/lb if my rims are "dirty" meaning wheel weights, center caps or stems. Currently getting .80 for clean rims and .75 for dirty. So I take mine off to get the whole amount of the rims weight at "clean"

Why would someone leave centercaps on, they have a way better resale value

No idea man.. but there are plenty of "Lazy Scrappers" out there- just take a look around your yard the next time you are there. I'm certain you will find furnaces whole, cars without anything being removed etc. I've seen it- it kills me.. but I see it all the time!

Sell your wheel weights to someone besides the yard!!! They go for ridiculous prices to people who reload their own ammo. And they don't care about the clips. They can be profitable on eBay or you could find a local buyer pretty easily im sure. I always same mine and melt them down myself. But people who use them prefer the weights just as is without anyone doctoring them.
