    general idea of hastelloy prices

I'm looking for a general idea of hastelloy tube scrap prices... I tried calling several places in my area and they seem to have never heard of the metal... I'm in the easton p.a. area and would like to scrap it somewhere close to there if anyone can help

Did you tell them what the alloy was. They should have a price for nickel alloys.

No I didn't get that far to tell them the alloy... I had to spell it for most of them... one of them said they would test it with some kind of gun? I've never heard of that but they sounded like they at least knew what hastelloy was... the only labeling I see on the metal is hc22 but I dunno if that is a material label or what?

The XRF gun will have told them what alloy it was, then they would have know how to price it.

proprietary alloys can be worth good money in volume and to the right dealer.

How many #'s do you have?

The gun they test metal with..it scans the piece of metal with a lazer and its tells the metal content. I have seen guns that cost $65,000..They are not cheap
