Is this all gold? What do I do with these other things?

First question is this computer board. Are all those lines gold? Its from some expensive cordless terminal phones from like 90's... from an old PBX system. Got like 10 of em. Not sure what to do with em O.o

These are starting to pile up. Is there anything I can productively do with them?

Last, I have the boards from the PBX system computer. These big blue capacitors are on them. Do I need to take them off before I sell the boards? I don't want to because they are like 5 pounds haha

As always, thanks for the time and any help!!

Yes, it's gold. Edit: Meant to also say..Some phones will surprise you, others will have you wondering why you wasted your time. This is in regard to house phones, an not office phones, as I don't deal with those usually. Cell phones are..well..awesome.

The rest, someone else will chime in on. Look like caps, but I could be wrong. Not sure on a resale market on them, as..I don't remove them unless I have to. Weight baby!

You need an official "OMG IT"S GOLD!"™ bucket....Do a search on it, it's INFAMOUS!

Those printer cable ends? If so I believe so. Gold plugs into gold is the saying I think.

An nice pile of "I don't know what it is!" I have to use a gaylord box.

Now mind I keep my gold-en stuff seperate, well some of it, as I plan to have it toll refined. I guess I really have 2 OMG IT"S GOLD™ buckets. One for stuff to be refined, an the other is for things that go to my buyers.

A tip for you if you didn't know, those black blobs in the middle pic on the one board, usually have gold wire hidden underneath. Trick is to get the glob off. I've been told freezing it, then whacking with a hammer/screwdriver will get it off, but yet to test it.

Nice gold fingers you got there. I'd think about cutting them off an putting them on ebay, or have them toll refined(assuming you get enough to sell on ebay or have refined.) an then sell the de-fingered boards for whatever the current rate is.

Thats me tho. I tend to be a tad odd.(Yes a tad, thank you peanut gallery!)

Keep those pic's coming. Sure others will chime in tomorrow when they all wake up. LOL.

In your first post second picture, you could get a capacitance tester...I'm not sure what resale value they have, but I do sell microwave capacitors once in awhile.
That last board - leave em on and sell wherever your low grade boards go (shipping these would be a losing venture). There isn't much to that board - you could remove the aluminum to sell separately.

Everything in your second post looks good to ship out somewhere...except for the one with the blue capacitors. I don't know if you have enough weight to justify shipping it all, you'd have to figure that out on your own.

Edit - I thought I'd point out that long finger card you have. Remove the bracket, and it should sell as a higher end telecom 4.50-5.00/lb.

Which bracket? Here is a picture of both sides. I think the side with all the plastic had gold finger things under the bracket, right? I tried on a couple other boards to get the brackets off but had a bit of trouble. Would I have to remove all the brackets for it to be worth more?

Disclaimer... I know its only worth a dollar or so.... but its neat to really KNOW how much it is.. even if that means 1 dollar vs 1.50.
So, would it be like... 324/28g = 11.5oz so 70% of a pound... so like $2.80 to $3.00 just for this piece?? (Redbull can obv empty and weight calibrated out...)

I was looking at some of ewasted posts. Would I just be able to box this all up and send it off (once I have 50 pounds or so)? If I remove the IC chips will the board then be worth less?

Scrapalot - Thanks a TON for the "keep those pics coming". I have been meaning to post for a while, but didn't think anyone would want to sit there identifying things for some help... Turns out I should have just posted much earlier haha. Thank you for the support!

    Haha no disassemble!

I'm about to give up sorting boards for the night. I'm actually out of totes, and sorting in piles on the ground is getting out of control!

armstrt8 - Oops not that one! That one...I don't know exactly what ewasted pays for those. Most likely be considered backplanes maybe 2-3.

I meant in your second post, second picture. The dual port networking card next to the cell phone board. It's kinda hard to see what is what as they are overlapping, but that one stood out for me.

Also, don't be removing IC chips unless you want to end up with a bunch of boards not worth shipping. Those are one of the main items giving boards their value.

Edit - The bracket is the steel piece at the end with the connectors. Usually connected by a couple screws.

Yep, those ones. Lots of good stuff on them.

Another problem with removing ICs is that if you were to sell them, you will most likely lose potential profit. They are usually bought at an average price for all ICs which IMO is the low average. Keep them attached to the boards they were intended for, and you will receive more value that way.

You are better off selling the boards whole.
The boards with only pins on them are classes as 'backplane' boards and have their own price.

The boards in the last pic, sell them too, they have their own price as well.
They also have the yellow tanti blocks and micro switchs. That makes them worth money to the buyer as well as the gold in the chips.

The big blue capacators are not worth anything.
Alumina is worth $350 a ton and they make 99.998% pure Ali from it.
The capacators have thin oxidised ali sheet in it and 3 times that of paper and oil to get rid of, sometimes a steel can too.
