Ok 1st of all its weird that some1 from the yard isn't marking your load, that the window person asks what you had. And rebar should be about the same price as light iron. But if you brought them nice short pieces like 5ft or less they cold pay you for prepared #1. A big nest of rebar is nothing but a pain in the ass.. its not suposed to go thru the shredder or any shear bc it destroys the blades.. Proper way to process it is torching it. Anyway 100/ton sounds very low

Agreed. Just too hard to read and get any meaning. Six lines without a break.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

Rebar is priced low because they put a coating on it to protect it from the elements.

Also It isnt to hard to use proper grammar. I mean I make a typo every now and again but try reading stuff like that. your using a computer keyboard for petes sake.

I understand your point. You do deal with all kinds of people in this type of work. But don't forget to pursue the advancement of your mind as well as your wallet. If you work on writing and grammar with even half as much effort as you put into scrapping, you can improve yourself. You can even improve your MARKETABILITY to potential clients. (Especially business owners!!)

Rebar is priced low bc its nothing but a head ache to process, destroys equipment, and takes a while to torch. Like i stated above, you cant compare a nest of rebar that got stuffed into a 40 yard roll off container, to nicely cut 5ft peices. At the end of the day its still rebar, except your getting payed much more for the prepared stuff

    What coating would that be?

Most rebar is made with about the same stuff that bed frames are made from... old railroad rail. VERY high carbon, which makes it very hard.

Hmm, The only political signs I've seen have either been cold rolled or galvanized. Rebar is not cold rolled, and galvanized rebar is not used a whole bunch. There is epoxy coated rebar, but it is not as common as regular rebar.
