I have some obsolete commercial dryers, the ones you find in a laundromat, that are made of steel, drum is made of galvanized steel, there is a motor I haven't open up that might have copper/aluminium wound up, and also there are some electric components. I wanted to know if i could sell the machines to a scrapper, I don't scrap myself, or should I just take the machines to a scrap yard?

Could do either... If you don't want to deal with them sell to a scrapper. If you want to go to the scrap yard expect $.07 - $.09 a pound for them as is.

Yes.. Here in Central Indiana it is .08/lb
Where are you located arid? Someone here on the board may be near you and willing to buy them off of you.
I'm so into scrapping.. When my Steel Toe Boots Wear out, I cut the Steel out of them and recycle the Toe!

Yep give a guy a few bucks and be done with them! If he wants to break them down further to make more money then that's on him!
