My yard refused to pay for chain-link?

so today i was so excited to take in some poles and chain link fence.. enough chain link to fill a 5x4 bed and above. Got on the scale, and the guy told me he will pay for the poles but not for the fence.. i said ok and dumped the poles off. When i went in the office to get my check, the lady told me that sometimes they pay for it sometimes they dont and sometimes they wont take it for free at all. I called a scrap yard 10 min away ( i know, first time going there today!!) they said they accept chain link fence.

Why do some yards not pay for chainlink?

The reason is that the chain link fence james up the baler and gets caught in the balers Chanel's.

Ah, so i assume its the same reason why they don't take bed springs either

My yard takes both at regular shred price, they have a shredder and a baler both out back.

Some yards won't take steel cable like is on winches or cranes. Also for the same reasons.

My yard takes it all . Ive taken in old chainlink and new . Taken in old chainlink maybe 40-50 years old. Had a spot in the woods where iron was plentiful in woods near my old school. The whole plot was a farm. Im not talking a little im talking alot . Sadly ive picked most of it out of there. The police always gave me a thumbs up that i was cleaning up .
