I was given this large welder, well, the tenant was being kicked out and the landlord didn't want it. He said If I could move it, I could have it. It's a Miller Mark VIII-2 Polywelder. I think it was used in a plastics manufacturing company. There are no leads, just this huge big old clunker of a multi station welding set up.
Anyways, it seems that all the reading I have done that Welders aren't worth that much to scrap, but this thing weighs 4200 lbs.
My thought was to take out all the copper I could, and then just scrap the unit.
It's an 8 Station unit, but the copper doens't look as much as I though it would.
Each Station has 2 transformers (coil I think?) but they just dont' look as big as I thought. I could keep it and try to sell it, but Its old and I don't think that it will go anytime soon.
Any suggestions? It's a Miller Mark VIII-2 Direct Current Polyweld unit.
