As a scrapper who enjoys finding metal during the day, I always ask permission asking if I may have what is on the property. If I am told no, I move on. I do not steal my steel! Always better to ask!

Us scrapers are many different things. My experience in life says we are all different and that is good. The scrapers that I have encountered are hard working and want to earn their own way of life. This forum has allowed me to see things much more different, we are even more than just hard workers, we are all mostly honest, but we are much, much more than that, we are very decent people!

This is so true. Especially about the members on this forum. The ones that start out gung-ho but ain't willing to do the work don't last long. If spend enough time in archives you see the patterns and you learn to recognize it when a new one pops up. Iam still amazed at what I gleen from the old threads. Not just about scrapping but the integrity of the vast majority of the members here. Sure there's disagreement but in the end there's learning. Plus I always say thank you and I'm very polite even if someone says no. I've found that a little appreciation and being professional goes a long way toward getting more scrap. The job may be a little dirty but the way you present yourself speaks volumes regarding how people accept you.
