Can you still sell the circuitboards after you have removed components?
Sure. Most will only go as low grade. The most economic thing would be to throw them in with your shred (steel). It's not cost effective to mail these off to an ewaste buyer. Now, if the boards have gold plating on them, then we're talking about something entirely different....SAVE THEM! There are definitely buyers out there for these. As far as pricing, contact some of the ewaste buyers on here with attached pictures....good luck.
I only remove things that will increase the value of the board.
I sell boards, not components.
He didn't give good specifics. I'm going off what was stated. A board with little or no components will go as shred and not low grade.
First, I can remove whatever I want from a brown board and it still goes as low grade. 15 cents.
second, copper bearing is roughly the same price, why waste time pulling CB components if the price is the same. In my opinion, the only thing worth pulling (depending on how you value your time) is aluminum, and only if you can get clean prices for it.
If you have a buyer for the circuit boards then sell as is, why try and screw them? If not remove what you think is of value and the rest can go in with the steel by me here. Some states do not want any circuit boards in with the steel so check you local laws and yard rules. How I figure it many things have circuit boards in them and are scrapped as is, autos, microwaves, kids electronics and so on... Yards here buy low grade brown boards and then green boards. Anything good gets mailed off if the price offered covers the cost of shipping it out!
Every board has a value better than shred maybe just not in your area. I get .12cent lb for low grade brown board's here in Indianapolis IN. tv's, vcr's and what ever. A great place to learn about board's is a Forum that I heard about this site from, hope it is alright to post it as it was where I learned of Scrap Metal Forum from.
