Can you exchange a propane tank from your grill with out the valve?
If you do a lot of scrapping and ever come across some pipe galvanized or cast iron you can make your own tool to slip over the valve once you unscrew the knob that turns the tank on and off you notch out a piece of pipe so it will fit over the valve secure the tank somehow and unscrew the valve hopefully you have all the pressure out of the tank I use my receiver hitch on my pickup I have a receiver that slides in my hitch with no ball on it and I slide the propane tank on to it so it locks itself when I unscrew the valve
Can you post a pic of your setup? I am not quite understanding it. Thanks.
My method is a large welding table, with a trucker strap looped under table/over the tank and cinched down. On the really tight valves the tank moves off center. Thinking of making a cradle out of angle iron. I made a socket which worked okay, but overall a pipe wrench has been faster.
