We don't have a KFC by us, but I ate at the one in Cheyenne last month. It was the best fast food I've had in ages.
Sadly, I'm hungry now!

Do not get into a pissing match with a skunk, do not piss into the wind, and do not pee on an electric fence.
Seriously, I started with a 2000 F-350 and was loading it by hand. Built a goose neck trailer that exploded on the first haul. Built a second trailer that was loaded by hand. Eventually bought a skid steer with profits. Future profits were invested in a commercial flatbed gooseneck trailer. The first one was a " tub trailer" built from the remains of a stock trailer. The next priority was two loaders.
Specializing in farm scrap and restoration is not productive now so non ferrous was the next priority. This led me to ewaste. I just have to figure out how to utilize the trailers, skid steer, and loaders in this new endeavor. Feeling blessed to have this forum to do the research and maybe make a profit. If not it has been a great journey and one that did not require borrowing money from the bank. That is the secret everyone is hiding from you, live within your means and do not borrow to expand. That way you will never be a slave to others. That strategy is a blessing given the current market. Just the opinion of a 59 year old that does not understand the value of credit, although I get all kinds of offers in the mail.
Give back more to this world than we take.
What's the secret? I think there has been a lot of "disclosing secrets" in this thread, the obvious has been said in just about every way, the secret is, there is nothing secret about it. This thread has stated it well, with honest opinion and advice, all of it (even the fun stuff) needed and all tried and proven methods that work.
So I'll disclose two more secrets: 1. Nothing will happen unless you get started, so do something and start doing it. 2. Do what works for you.
Now I have some questions about that thing called "credit". 1. Do you have to pay it back? 2. Does it cost much? 3. I'm just wondering if it is used much?

The secret is within the forums.
Get to digging, you'll find it eventually like the rest of us.

I believe i understand. Live within your means, use what is traded to buy what is needed, do not do everything AKA specialize. I am grateful for the information I have received from all of you and have read so very much here. I have reached out to some and have gained invaluable knowledge that I am extremely appreciative for.
I am in a difficult position and am trying to climb out of it but I keep getting screwed. I don't know how long I can last...I am very tired, very disabled and very scared.
I feel with this addition of income I may be able to hold steady but I need to get good prices for what I do not the prices I have been getting. I have made $2 an hour for my efforts, this is not helpful but I feel with the buyers here I will do better.
I guess this is too solemn but it is my feeling and I never share my feeling...
Another "secret" - barter. I clipped a curb in the city about a month ago. Sidewall was split, so no patching it. I know a car mechanic that buys used tires etc. from me. My plan now is to find another used tire or some other thing to trade with the mechanic for another tire. So I took the flat tire off and replaced it with a snow tire, for the time being. So eventually I found a worthy tire, and a power wheels, (for his granddaughter). The steering was busted on the power wheels but he's a mechanic so it's fixable. I took these two items to him, got a new mounted, balanced tire. Didn't cost me a dime.
