couple questions. scored my first "big" job

alright i called a guy a few days ago about a car, ends up it was his moms and she didnt want to sell it. but he said there was a bunch of other junk out back and a trailer he wanted me to tear down for him. i went over to check it out the next day and there was a TON of junk.. from car frames, to another car, to tons of rims and axles, 3 oil tanks you name it it was there. there was also tons of car parts in the house, and there are still 2 barns that i dont know what are in. there is also a house on the property and hes going to let me strip the copper wire out of it, but its almost about ready to collapse in so im a little leary on going in. my early guess is its a $800-$1,200 job, depending on what he lets me take. the good thing is is that its only 1/4th of a mile from my driveway. i checked the trailer frame and its for sure #1 and the trailer has aluminum siding. ill probably tear it down for something to do in the summer. I have a few questions now... there is an old car frame there and is #1 iron, should i cut it up into 4 foot long sections and bring it in as #1 ppd? or just bring it in whole? also there is a truck bed with the frame still on it so its like a rolling truck bed. what would i bring that in as? incomplete car? also should i cut the car and trailer axles in half to get #1 ppd? im borrowing my buddys generator and i have a good supply of sawzall blades and tools and being in high school still i have plenty of time to do it. Another scrapper was checking it out real good from the road today, so ill be calling the guy ASAP tomorrow and get this rollin

First things first. Get possession of the stuff. Pay him something or move it. That truck bed on a frame will go as an Incomplete Car. I think I'd take the bed off the frame, though, and get some #1. Cutting the iron to 4' lengths is up to you to figure out if it's worth it. You might start by cutting one frame and get a sense as to what it'll take. I generally don't bother for the difference. I'd recommend a grinder or torch over a sawzall for iron.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

thanks for the help guys. i will have to cut it in half first to pull it out of the ground anyways so ill see then if its worth it to cut it in 4' sections. also what would the truck bed go in as? there is also another one there. light iron? ill let you guys know what i come up with tomorrow. Ill most likely get all the small stuff to my place and then work on the bigger stuff later on and then do the trailer last. im pretty excited about the whole thing because ive never got this much scrap at one time. usually its just some here, some there ect

Same as "Light Iron". Just different terminology at different yards.
