    CAT 5 24 AWG versus 3C/18AWG 3X18AWG

    It seems some recycle yards pay most for CAT 5 24 AWG(example) than for say computer pwr chords such as 3C/18AWG with ends cut off. Some yards don't mind if they are mixed.

    I was thinking about keeping mine separate.



    Any comments welcome and appreciated regarding the above post.

    Also, just some advice while on this subject. I know people pull the brass plug prongs. I advise if you do this to twist and pull the prong. This way you will pull out about an inch of copper out of the plug, rather than breaking the prong before the copper strands. Not a ton of copper strands, but you may want it.
