$100 a LB at one of our esteemed buyers here on the board.
Do NOT sell them at a scrap yard unless you like living with regrets
I'm so into scrapping.. When my Steel Toe Boots Wear out, I cut the Steel out of them and recycle the Toe!
Thank you will get them packed for shipping today.
Are there different versions of this CPU chip?
I have a medium sized purple ceramic chip with no Gold on the cap, Gold pins and a Gold square under the cap. Marked 386.
And this is supposed to be a high yeald chip? (Same as this, but 386, top & bottom pic.)
I also found a pic of one chip I have.

I ran the numbers awhile back and if memory serves the scrap value works out to somewhere around 3.50 USD each. Kind of in that general area. They don't weigh very much so it takes quite a few to add up to a pound.
The gold pins sure are pretty to look at.
The best finds are the newer quad core processors. The core i-3's, core i-5's & core i-7's are a sweet score too. Check out the average prices on ebay or one of the buyers here and you might be surprised at the value.
There's quite a few CPU internet forums out there.
This one has a ongoing competition for the oldest version of a line of CPU.Record - chipdb.org
And this is some bigger CPU DEC - Digital Equipment Corporation*-*Alpha - chipdb.org
I have one of these, but one ends been broken off when the guy tried to remove the heatsink (?!!!!!!!!)
