I have saved up all my CPU from day one, a few years ago.
I don't think I can get 'best prices' in NewZealand and expect I will have to send them to the US. my postal rate is NZ$50 per 2.5kg.. (US$33 per 5lb..)
Its a lot of CPU I think, but when I totaled them up tonight I realised it weighs more than I thought.
Taking the Copper topped heatsinks off would save a lot of weight, only some of them have the 'Gold spash' inside them and I would send those as well (and see how many CPU have them..)
This is what I have. Its a long list and described as best as I know, starting with the Purple Ceramic$.
490gms Pentium ceramic large socket. Gold pins.
138gms Intel DX486, inc dx2 &4. Gold pins & under side.
116gms AMD DX486, inc dx2&4.Gold pins & under side.
520gms AMD ceramic Duron. Gold pins.
438gms AMD K6 Ali cap. Gold pins.
49gms TX486 Ceramic 403ga (small profile size). Gold pins.
43gms Cyrix CX486. Ceramic. Gold pins.
125gms IBM 6X864 PR116. Gold pins & cap. (X3 total)
114gms K5 AMD. Gold cap & pins & underside. (X3 total)
~~
260gms AMD brown fibreglass. Gold pins.
580gms Intel Celeron black fibreglass. Gold pins.
713gms AMD green fibreglass. Gold pins.
Total of 3586gms. (3.5Kg)
~~~~~~~~~~
Copper capped heatsink CPU.
270gms AMD Sempron. Gold pins. (7cpu)
637gms AMD Athlon. Gold pins. (16 cpu)
386gms Celeron SL. 5, (49.2mm square.). Gold pins. (16 cpu)
228gms Celeron SL. 6, (35mm square) (laptop cpu?) Gold pins.
464gms Intel Xeon (42.5mm square) Gold pins. (26cpu)
2098gms Intel Pentium (35mm square) Gold pins. (112cpu)
1589gms Intel Celeron (37.4mm square) Pinless chips. (70cpu)
Total of 5654gms (5.6Kg)
~~~~~~~~~~
That weight as is, would cost NZ$180 to send to the US. (US$120)
There's a few broken CPU as well.
A very large CPU, Gold pins/underside and cap, with the 2 Gold bolts sticking out the top (Ouch!!!!) From what I read its a ' One Whole Gram of Gold CPU'. !!$$$.
But one edge, the whole row of pins, has been broken off and is missing.
About 3 purple CPU, broken and some legs/under cap missing, 386, Ali cap and plain.
Apple Mac CPU? Taken from G5's boards.
2 thin Gold topped Cyrix telecom CPU.
6 (?) geen fibreglass CPU from different places, different sorts.
And some others that were soldered to boards, might have been slot processors, etc.
I might be able to sell to the guy who will buy my
escrap. But we both don't know how to grade them.
Even the place that buys escrap in a large city far from here, and only pays 20-25% of American prices for it, only pays by weight for CPU, no matter what makes up that weight. @ NZ$8 a Kg...
They pay NZ$6.50 a Kg for Gold RAM.... That's US$4.15 for 2.2Lbs..... hahaha.
Now when I see the US buyers prices, I look at then as kiwi dollars. But because our $ is only worth US0.66cents.
Its really 50% more in Kiwi $.
So getting paid in US$, minus a lot of freight, is still worth it.
