Hard to sell home made ingots unless you have a degree in metallurgy.

Step one, disassemble a bunch of junk
    Step two, keep aluminum
    Step three, recycle the rest
I can get well over a ton a year with these simple steps.
    Have fun!
    Edit
I am glad to see a younger fellow interested in recycling but in this biz ya gotta get out there and get it. Read more here, there are plenty of breakdowns of common items that will help you determine what items have a decent amount of Al or whatever other metal you fancy.
I'm sure there are plenty of obstacles being so young but if you really want to get it you can find a way.
Try and find a big pile of Al window frames from a house remodel.

Why are you melting stuff down? Have you thought about the costs associated with that? Do you have a buyer / yard that will buy ignots? Do you know that there are different alloys / grades of aluminum that pay differently? If you have a buyer for your ignots, it is doubtful that you will get anymore than sheet aluminum price.

You may want to consider getting into eScrap...Where you will find scrap gold, copper, aluminum, steel and other items that will 'make you some money'...Good Luck...
