Mini Fridges from a Hotel

Long Story short, a client of mine didnt pay his bill and we are confiscating his stuff. We open the trailer and find 300 Mini bars/fridges (the stuff you find in hotels).



I can get $0.05 / lb as is at a scrap yard but im wondering if they are worth more if i have the time or inclination to take them apart.

Any insight would be appreciated.

There's brass aluminum and if your yard takes compressors you have a shot ton.
In case anyone was wondering a **** ton is exactly two metric buttloads. Yes it's a metric form of weight and not standard like most tend to think.

1. All replaced at once when the hotel did an upgrade
2. So most will work
3. also guessing they are all keyed alike >> Might be worth it to get a locksmith to make a key OR get the right size drill bit to drill the locks out
Even if you destroy a couple , after a few you should find the trick to doing it without damaging the units
Sell on Craigs for $25.00 a piece

I would think that would beat 5 cents a pound

If not >> Break down 10 or so and see what the payout is >> At that point you will know which way pays the best for the time involved

Thought unpaid storage had to be sized the auctioned off under the warehouseman's act.

First you need to file a lien, if the bill goes unpaid then you hire a bailiff to seize the goods then you auction them off as a unit or individually.

As JohnC said...those things go for good money on Craigslist. I sell all the ones I for at lest $50 minimum. Home brewers love them, as do most guys in general. Make a great beer/beverage fridge for a garage, office, or man cave.

I personally think you'd be foolish to sell them to a yard, unless they don't work. If they do work the price JohnC said would work. I could sell those all day long assuming they work, even locked an with no key.

Sitting there locked for a year, I would guess that they have black mold growing in them

Here is a link to a business that buys, sells and stores mini fridges on college campuses. Right now, it is pretty much only in certain New England states. I haven't used it yet, but may when I get a few more of these.

Just a quick update..especially since i been slacking lol.

Took the advice and did a quick search sold them all for $10 each to a wholesaler.

Just as an FYI we had permission to sell them from our client in order to alleviate his bill.
