Is brass worth anything? Is it worth setting aside or should I just scrap it with the rest of the misc. ?

Yes. Check with your local scrap metal buyer. The last price I got was $1.35lb. Good thing about brass is it doesnt take much to make a pound. Brass is found almost everywhere; especially plumbing fittings.

I LOVE BRASS! Its worth so much for something so small. And its always heavy...I love it when something DOESNT stick to a magnet but IS REALLY HEAVY![]()

If you have the room try to separate everything you can. I have several 5 gallon buckets, and when I get something in I will try to process it and remove all the non ferrous materials such as copper (including insulated), aluminum, brass, lead, etc. I will then put each of these into its specified bucket, and does not take up much room, and helps keep things organized.

Wayne, I do the same thing. I mainly use a magnet and anything im not sure about I run the magnet over it. If it doesn't stick and I am still not sure I will take a file to it and scrap off the dirt or crude and you can tell right away. I love seening that bright yellow or copper.
