    Is painted brass dirty?

Hi all, tried finding this info online and got conflicting info. I have fittings that are 100% brass but are painted with a thick coat of red paint. Does that make them dirty? Thanks in advance for the help!

Hi and welcome to the forum! I have never bought nor sold painted yellow brass as anything but clean yellow brass. Others may have different experiences with this

    I will give you the...

Call your yard, or yards local to you and ask for the answer, answer.

My yard...they don't care. Yellow Brass is yellow brass, paint or not. My yard will also scratch the metal to make sure. Not like they are just going to take your word for it if they do.

Some yards will tell you an aluminum chair is dirty alum, some yards will laugh and tell you not to worry about that one rivet you leave in.

My point....every yard is different usually, unless their all part of the same network/group/business/whatever.

The 3 yards around me all grade things different from each other.

YMMV or in this case YYMV. To save the google searches....Your Mileage May Vary. Your Yard May Vary.

Good luck an when you find the answer to your question, return and let us know what your yard said.

To those still here like JJinLV and others...a hello to you from the cooler and sandbar.
