Hi All,
I am an industrial surplus reseller and that means I come across a lot of machining tools, bits, holds, etc....... Many of these items are solid carbide and if they are not saleable.... they go into a carbide barrel. MANY pieces I come across are a mix of tool steel that has a fair amount of carbide attached to hold inserts, etc.....
Can a person sell these at elevated prices or is there a means of separating the carbide from the steel? See photo. The item you are looking at is a high speed cutter with no resale value. the top portion where the inserts get attached is all carbide. The whole unit weighs approx 3 pounds. (Sorry.... I am too new to add a photo.)
Thanks
Pete
