How to tell if contacts are gold

I come across these when I was cleaning my dad's basement after he died. They appear to be ceramic and gold IC chips.

I have 9 ounces of them and thinking of putting on ebay with 2 cpus (athlon 64 and pentium MMX). Is the gold plated or solid, how can I tell.

Wondering what a good starting price would be, I tried to find similar chips but couldn't find any.

Do free shipping an insurance to $500 (if item sells for less you can downgrade the insurance but make sure its higher than the amount they are paying. Ie if they won it at 235 insure it for 250 as it will cost you the same for 235 to 250....the price goes up after every $50

Start the bidding at $45 with US mail Flat rate box (easiest way to go if you ask me.)

When you say you will insure it upto $500 they think hey...it has to be worth close to that if they will insure it for that...so I am going to bid on this item even if it goes past blank.

Just at the bottom of your listing say if item sells for less that you will lower the insurance but will still be over the total sale of item...that way if they try to come back an get money from your for this reason or that...you can say take it up with the insurance company as you over insured it an ebay will (65%) of the time will side with you as you did "over insure it"...an make sure you make them sign for the package so they cant claim they did not get it...even if there is tracking numbers people will say they never got it even tho it shows an...ebay will make you refund the money....

Ok..i'll stop now but wanted to make sure you have all the info you will need.

They come out of the older computers an some real old servers. They are like cpu chips that can be changed out with out having the change the whole board. It was a upgrade one can do at home like computer memory or cpu speed. They dont use them anymore as motherboards become out dated to fast an is fairly cheap to just replace the whole thing.

A few years ago it would cost a arm an a leg to replace a whole board on a huge system. So on the bigger servers an some desktops they had them built in a way that they could be upgraded to a point with new chips as they came out so there was no need to replace the green board...just the chips that the board had.
