    Power Supply Wire Harness

Okay, I just stripped down a few wire harnesses out of a handful of PC Power Supplies and they aren't copper and they aren't steel, what the heck are they? Aluminum?!

Non-magnetic and white like aluminum, but I just can't wrap my head around using aluminum for DC power...

I don't want to be throwing misc wire into my steel piles.

Yes they do use some alum wiring in the power supplies cause they are dealing with real low voltage, 12v, 5v, 3v are the standards. There's no amperage draw on 5v and 3v.

I would say that it is tin coated copper. If you look at it really closely you should see some copper color.

All wire coming out of the power box is AL not copper.

Or so...I have learned but never did take a XFR gun to it.

I've gotten both out of the last dozen I've torn down.
