What are these door knobs made of? They don't stick a magnet so not steel, way to heavy to be al, they don't spark so there not ss, and there not brass colored. My guess is zinc if someone could confirm i'd appreciate it. Thanks

I want to say brass. I had some from an old farm house that was brass.
probably a nickel alloy
Buzz it with a wire wheel and see what the shiny color is.
Eat. Sleep. Scrap.
they sure look like brass - how deep did you buzz it to check the color?
Sorry guys here is a better pic. I buzzed em deep enough to see the true color.. its not brass :/
My guess is zinc.
Or Nickle!!
They were very popular a few years ago in kitchen remodels.
Just my 2 cents
Mardigras
zinc
well i turn them in as brass never been bothered.
Ask your friendly neighbourhood scrap dealer whether it is brass. But be careful! One place I have dealt with will try to spin you a story about reinforced aluminium door knobs and beat you down on price!
if they are old enough… there is a god market on ebay and antique dealers..
I put them in with my dirty brass, as normally die cast zinc under a sheet of brass
