Still a new guy :) Anything valuable in a walkitalkie?

I have some walkietalkies they say 6 transistor walkietalkies on them. been pullin em apart and was wondering, since im enw to this, do i keep ALL of the metal? Idk whats valuable or what isnt or is it just you scrap it and keep all the metal then sort it? How do i sort it? Sorry im a noob to this but i've always wanted to start scrapping.

I hope you have a magnet JT. First separate the magnetic (ferrous) and non-magnetic (non ferrous), then read about the different non ferrous ones before you start separating them. Lots of info about that on here. Good luck.

Just about anything with a brown circuit board is considered a low grade board which brings anywhere from $.05 lb up to $.25 lb. And if you want to pull aluminum heat sinks or small copper transformers, etc. off of them, no one should dock you on the price. We strip ours and we're working on the 3rd 55 gallon barrel of boards. We're waiting for a truckload of barrels before we take them in. Tv/monitor, stereo, vcr, dvd, boards are all brown(low) grade boards. hope that helps,,
