Well I'm new here and have been reading for a long time... Here in toronto, canada I get 10 cents a pound for tv's, computer moniters and any electronics. I also get 8 bucks for a whole computer. Just thought I would chime in. I guess I'm really lucky here. Tv's are a big part of my income I average 4-500 pounds a night.

I think I know the answer, but where do you find 500 lbs of TVs every night?

Yeah they add up quick I ussually fill my truck with tv's and my trailer with metal. A tv averages 40-60 pounds and the big huge ones are 150-190 so it does not take much.

I wish there was a place in denver that paid for TV's. We have to pay for the yards to take the dang things.

Break them down for the copper, aluminum, and wire, and the dispose of the glass. Thanks to computerscrapper's information, this will be easy now.

I do recall his posts on the matter and that he had to monkey around quite a bit before getting it dialed in...Maybe you should start with the wire stripper and work your way into things involving electricity and toxic chemicals, I would hate for you to get hurt. My 2 cents.

Not sure what you mean by I do recall his posts on the matter and that he had to monkey around quite a bit before getting it dialed in But in regards to your other statement. I plan to purchase a wire stripper (maybe not the exact one you posted a link to (thanks for that), but one regardless), but do also plan to to build one that was shown in that youtube video for when I have a lot of it, to save a little time.

Regarding the method that computerscrapper shared with me via PM, I am not planning on doing it alone, at least not the first few times. I will have my brother in law and his friend with me that have experience messing with tv's, electricity, and chemicals.

I do thank you for the concern though. Much appreciated!

He made some post a while back about the process, I'm not going to go looking for it but you may want too. Not sure why that wire stripper comes up automatically when someone types those words, but I was talking about the simple one on youtube as well.

Yeah, that is what he has been talking to me about as well...the process.

Not sure why it came up, but I will probably pick one up tomorrow. Like I said, will come in handy for small amounts.
