    Scrappers taking my trash

So I put out my trash from srcapping like vacuums ( you can clearly see no motor in it) Tv's ( I always put a note on it saying copper removed or internal scrap removed) but yet they still stop an take them why? I don't think any places in Philly buy plastic. Am I missing something?

Alot of people don't stop to think about it...probably due to how many scrappers there are now. Taking a chance and hoping for the best sort of situation.

Your trash people will just take the glass like that, or was it the entire monitor?

Mine will take it just the tube, or with the plastic back on.

George, my trash collectors will take the tubes just like that - I had already saved the plastic housing. I do leave the bottom section of plastic on though so the glass isn't sitting directly on my drive until it goes out. Normally I will wrap some packing tape around the top of the tube so there is less chance of breakage or someone getting hurt.

Do they have a maximum limit, or just any amount you put out there?

I will contact my trash company. If they will take just the glass, then it will be a lot more cost effective to let them do that, but as newattitude mentioned, I will ensure that no one can be hurt from it.

On a youtube video they talked about a guy who tripped with one in his hands and it killed him.

^^I do put the covers back on sometimes, it depends on if I'm using it for a garbage holder of if I threw the screws away without thinking and didnt feel like digging them back out. Yes, they are very sharp if someone were to trip. I have had 6 or more at a time out and they took them all. If I'm awake when the garbage comes I will go out and help toss all my stuff in the truck too because I feel bad I have so much sometimes or I dont want him to get hurt.
