    newbie oddball question

Hi all, new to the scrap game and new to this forum. First off, I have read just about every thread on this forum and introduced myself in fear of admonishment!!

Here is my oddball question: On cars and trucks, what are the brake lines made of?? I think copper is too soft a metal so I an thinking either Brass or Aluminum.. Does anyone here know first hand?? happy hunting.

^correct. Every line I've come across has been steel. Has to be, to withstand hydraulic pressure.

Did some Googling. I guess some lines do have a copper/nickel alloy mix to them, but it doesn't seem to be a common thing.

Like Dee said, a magnet. Stick it to everything. I see stuff that looks like brass and aluminum and it's not.
