Im new to the forum and relatively new to scrapping metal. I have a question for all of you guys and gals who have been at this a while. First an overview of my situation. During my scrapping ventures I would say that %95 or so of the metal I collect is ferrous steel or tin. Car body parts, chain link fence parts, bed frames, etc. I haven't really hit the jackpot with much copper, aluminum, or any other non ferrous metals. I will find the very rare appliance and get small amounts of copper and/or aluminum there. But thats not often. Lots of scrappers in my area. My question - Is this a normal thing, do most metal scrappers rely on 10 cent per pound mixed tin and steel as the majority of there scrapping income? If this is not the case what am I doing wrong? Where can I go to find more appliances and non ferrous metals? Any help you guys have for me would be much appreciated....thanks in advance.
