I did a search and can't find what I'm looking for. Need some info on golf carts.
Has anyone ever scrapped one of these? I haven't. Owner wants $100 for it. Batteries are dead, but come with it. So does anyone know if there is money to be off it at this price?

Never scrapped one, but had one when I lived with parents...If I recall, there isn't much too it. Batteries, wiring harness and a lot of plastic. Probably some bits of steel here and there.

I scrapped the one we had at the ranch. It had 8 batteries in it. 250 pounds worth. A large electric motor. I think it was about 60 pounds. Then the rest went to shred. Depending on batery weight and how much you get for it I would be carefull paying $100. Maybe offer him $50?

down here those are worth their weight in gold. find out if he has a charger for it. i would definately be a buyer for that.

I have scrapped a couple, but after getting the insulated wire (and there was some nice thick cables) and some aluminum, I probably made maybe a $100 bucks on each one. maybe. I would NOT give him $100, but there would be money to be made if he would accept $50.

If it runs, I would definitely sell it instead of scrapping it. I see them going from $800 to several thousand for used ones depending on model and condition. Just do a Google Shopping search. If it is in decent condition, you don't want to insult him with a lowball offer. If it is only scrap worthy though, I would try to get him down and tell him straight out that you are only buying it for the scrap value.

Thanks all. I did go talk to him about it yesterday. Changed his mind on selling it. Said he was gonna fix it up for his grand kids to ride around in. Well, you can't win em all. I'd rather see em get some enjoyment out of it rather scrapping it anyway. Still it would've been fun just for the experience of it.

The two my dad has are mostly the hard plastic shell (or whatever its made from) and batteries!!! I don't know if I'd ever buy any to scrap out but I would if they were given to me free.

Yea I know you'd take your air chisel to it and have white fiberglass flying everywhere,,,I don't know if I'd ever buy any to scrap out but I would if they were given to me free.
