Ok boys and girls. Rough payout on all 6 machines was 381 cash. So roughly 3000 lbs give or take. This is including only 2-3 shelves. Rest are sitting in the garage waiting to get the motors stripped of the augger's. So maybe another 400-500 lbs in shelves not cashed in yet.
So basically I made back my 200 investment. Gave my buddy a 100 for 2 days help. And 50 fuel and 30 trailer/hand truck rental. So right now Im dead even with expenses. My paycheck will be all the wire, motors, and possibly selling the control boards on
ebay. Actually can say Im a lil in the hole cause of eatoing and smoking expenses for 2 people..lol. :>
Plus there was a crap load of magnesium plates around the button's, bill changers, etc. Pretty sure my yard will classify it as aluminum. Plus there was all aluminum that frames the windows in and etc. Plus the one machine actually had all aluminum/magnesium augger's and some sheet aluminum under the augger's. Think I got like 50-100 lbs wire out of them as well. And don't forgot the refrigeration unit on the Pepsi machine.
So the question remains. Will I do it again if I ever find them? Yes and I think 35-50 is reasonably fair to pay for them. Another tip I can give is load them upright. I was able to fit 3 in the uhaul trailer upright. Just used a chain and binder at the back one super tight...no other straps. They rode good. No issues. And last tip. I had no key for the one machine and needed the lock cut open. I paid a garage 20 to cut it. It is a magnesium lock and makes a nice sparkler when burned lol. So basically drill is all you need to cut the lock, its not hardened steel like I thought. So I wasted 20 there. :>
I just hope this post doesn't gives the wrong people ideas and snack machines start disappearing lol. All in all I would say another 100-200 on the non ferrous and if I can sell the control boards. So about 600-700...maybe a tad more/less is profit on the machines if you strip everything and able to sell some of the parts.
Any questions...feel free to ask. Oh and last tip. They are super easy to dismantle. Cordless impact screw gun with 1/4 socket ftw. That's all you need.
