The pop machines I get are about 400 pounds apiece.

I would think snack machine would be around 200 lbs each. But if you scrap a pepsi machine its just like a fridge. With alot more motors in it![]()

depends on the machine read the deaths caused by machines falling on people trying to shake free snacks out every year it is astounding, they say some coke/pepsi machines can weigh over 1000 lb loaded.

Where are you from ozzy? I'm looking for a couple vending units if they are working.

depending on the machine between 500 to 900 plus lbs....i got one, one time that was about 850 lbs...if it wasnt for a forklift and cran, i wouldnt havent gotten it.

Was the 850 pounds before you parted it out?
If any of the machines work, toss 'em on CL for a spell.
This looks like an avg coke machine. Says 891 lbs.

I didn't realize they were so heavy before they are parted out. No wonder my guys complain so much about hauling them!
Well thanks guys...we shall see. Grabbed the pepsi machine and 2 snackers today. So far Im up to 200 cash for 6 machines...plus 25 gas and 30 trailer rental. We shall see what the 3 machines bring tommorrow am. They were quite heavy and pia to get them in the trailer upright.
Bright side is he gave me a small gas powered snow blower, stove, and a table..:> I was supposed to spend 25 per, but after loading one...he was like see how heavy they are..they should bring more. But yet Im all for you guys making money...blah blah. I felt bad..so I upped it to 35 per which came out to 210. I dont like odball numbers so I said 200 and he was happy.
Hope I didnt make a mistake upping the ante, but I doubt it. I have a funny feeling I will make 500-600 just in scrap weight, not including anythign else. So basically Im doubling my 200 investment and giving my buddy a 100 for help. Rest is for gas and trailer rental.
Then maybe another 100 for the wire and copper. Thats what Im thinking after I saw. Will post weights on the machines tomorrow for future reference. Thanks

Don't those have compressors in there for cooling?

If you enjoy your freedom, thank a vet.
Only the Pepsi machine has a compressor. The snack machines didnt.

Well duh, guess I should have been a little more specific, it was just assumed that everyone knew that only pop/ice cream/ machines have coolers.Only the Pepsi machine has a compressor. The snack machines didnt.

Yes, that is true for machines that do have sand whiches in them. However, when I was speaking in terms of combo machines that have the compressors, I was including sand which machines in them. Funny as it may sound, all sand which machines I have seen so far, have had some type of drink in them as well.
But yes, any machine that holds perishable foods in them, will have a compressor.
Ok boys and girls. Rough payout on all 6 machines was 381 cash. So roughly 3000 lbs give or take. This is including only 2-3 shelves. Rest are sitting in the garage waiting to get the motors stripped of the augger's. So maybe another 400-500 lbs in shelves not cashed in yet.
So basically I made back my 200 investment. Gave my buddy a 100 for 2 days help. And 50 fuel and 30 trailer/hand truck rental. So right now Im dead even with expenses. My paycheck will be all the wire, motors, and possibly selling the control boards on ebay. Actually can say Im a lil in the hole cause of eatoing and smoking expenses for 2 people..lol. :>
Plus there was a crap load of magnesium plates around the button's, bill changers, etc. Pretty sure my yard will classify it as aluminum. Plus there was all aluminum that frames the windows in and etc. Plus the one machine actually had all aluminum/magnesium augger's and some sheet aluminum under the augger's. Think I got like 50-100 lbs wire out of them as well. And don't forgot the refrigeration unit on the Pepsi machine.
So the question remains. Will I do it again if I ever find them? Yes and I think 35-50 is reasonably fair to pay for them. Another tip I can give is load them upright. I was able to fit 3 in the uhaul trailer upright. Just used a chain and binder at the back one super tight...no other straps. They rode good. No issues. And last tip. I had no key for the one machine and needed the lock cut open. I paid a garage 20 to cut it. It is a magnesium lock and makes a nice sparkler when burned lol. So basically drill is all you need to cut the lock, its not hardened steel like I thought. So I wasted 20 there. :>
I just hope this post doesn't gives the wrong people ideas and snack machines start disappearing lol. All in all I would say another 100-200 on the non ferrous and if I can sell the control boards. So about 600-700...maybe a tad more/less is profit on the machines if you strip everything and able to sell some of the parts.
Any questions...feel free to ask. Oh and last tip. They are super easy to dismantle. Cordless impact screw gun with 1/4 socket ftw. That's all you need.
