How much would you say this weighs?

First to the Mods and/or Admin: Wasn't sure if this should go in this section or the vehicle section. I understand completely if you move it.

So I've got this old tool box bed to scrap (was told it came off an ATT truck) and no idea as to the weight of it.:confused: I'm hoping someone out there has had experience with one of these and can give me an idea. Heck, I'll even take your best guess. Gonna go pick it up this coming Tuesday or Wednesday.

I guess 380 with the bike!

I may be way off but my best guess would be 1100lbs

My truck has pretty much the same bed. The truck total weighs 5280 lbs all together so I will guess about 2500lbs.

Im with injunjoe, 2500.

Nope. The lady said the bike has to stay there. Thing I can't figure out there is that she is a lovely little ol 70 year old woman no grandkids. She gets around but not well enough to ride the bike herself. Now I don't mind at all that she wants to keep the bike, but I sure am curious as to why.

O.k. so far we are between 350 lbs and 2500 lbs. lol Wow, lots of room to play with here. If it's the low weight then it's no problem. Well, if it's the high weight then we're still good! I've no idea myself, but I'll be sure to let you all know when we get it weighed in. Till then feel free to keep the guesses coming..

Maybe this is what makes scrapping fun!

I may be off by a lot but I know it is heavy. My tool bed is heavy steel not like the metal used for a normal truck bed.

That's what this is. Heavy steel. No thin stuff here.

My father in law, mother in law, and I all 3 lifted a huge truck bed (cant remember the length), and that sucker was HEAVY!

That was nothing like what you got there, so that is why I agreed with injunjoe!

My son and I went over there last night and each got on the same corner of this thing to see if we could move it maybe an inch or so. We couldn't even budge the sucker! The lady will not let us cut it up on site. Went and talked to a friend today that has a huge A frame with a 6 ton chain fall. It's plenty high enough to lift it up so I can back the trailer under it. Now he don't know it yet, but it's only 1/2 mile from his place. He has the means to transport the A frame. I'll just throw him a few dollars for helping out.

I figured that might be the case. Definitely towards 2,500 lbs, I am sure. Be interesting to see!

Should have asked the lady "do you want it removed or not" when she told you, no cutting it up on job site.

Granted, I wouldn't be rude like that myself, but still. People should be grateful to have it gone!

I've been looking to get something similar to this; with no place to store my tools, I would like to have my tools, on hand, at all times. Any suggestions on what to search to find something like this on craigslist? I keep finding those smaller, diamond plate boxes, but I only have a 6 ft bed and I need all the room I could get.
