    bare bright copper question

I've searched the site but can't seem to find the answer and I hate going to that "other" forum! My question is how long will bare bright copper stay bare bright once it's stripped? Someone told me I don't have long before it oxidizes but I never thought to ask how long. I have a bunch to strip but want to hang onto it until the price goes up. Thanks for the help.

I've got some (actually a couple hundred pounds) that's been sitting in my garage for over a year. I'd say if you keep it cool and dry, it should be ok for quite a long time.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

What price are you waiting for?...I guess everyone has forgot when copper was only .50 Cents?

I also remember when Gas was $1.30 a gallon. The copper market has been climbing for a month now.

I am waiting for $4.70 again. If it does hit that price I stand to make a nice chunk of money.

Hey injunjoe, I think many are waiting for that price again but once it's there, will you hold out thinking it's going to rise higher and squeeze it a little more?

That's a good question. I started hoarding copper when the price fell to under $4.00 the price very quickly fell to the lower $3 range.
I noticed the yard took a few days to change there price so my plan is ride it to the top when it starts to come down again I will load up and cash out.

Sounds like a good plan. It goes to show how using common sense, honesty, and playing the game by their rules a man can make money in this business. Good luck Injunjoe!

I personal y don't take the chance. My yard is paying 65c per lb over any other yard here. I just unloaded all 100lbs of copper I had and working on the rest as we speak. Hope to have the other 50 lbs ready before humpty dumpty crashes off the wall..lol.
