If you are repairing appliances I can see where cl,free cycle could work well for you. Your return is going to be much higher than what I would get for just scrapping.

Can't say all lowes are uniform but by me they put all used units in a trailer so no question the scrapper is out of the loop

Yeah I've tried several around me.
No go. But never hurts to ask.

The best way to get in with smaller business's is to ask to make a presentation at there meeting in the morning which most small companies usually have. Bring folders filled with marketing items for everyone with pens, magnets, flyers, many cards and the professionalness of that will draw there attention and most likely get you some business

I too am interested in working with big box on a regional level, if not for appliances, for other stuff.

One thing I have found with big box stores is that the new contracts all require the appliances to be destroyed. GE has been leading the charge on this. They say it is because of product liability. Some of the major players like Jayco and Whisk have found loopholes though. You can still buy semi loads of rebuilder appliances from them at a decent price. But smaller players don't have that option. Most of my contracts are destroy only.

Lowes, at least around here, has a trailer behind the store. Delivery guys unload their haul aways and they're loaded into the trailer. Trailer gets hauled when full. Management doesn't care about what's on there or profit. Takes less time to load the trailer than it does to mess with individuals.

So maybe an option would be to deal with the delivery people, and buy from them. Iam pretty sure that they are contractors and not employees. In most cases.

Wrong. Delivery is handled by store personnel. I have 1st hand knowledge of this

Most of the Home Depots and Sears stores I deal with use 3rd party delivery and wharehousing of appliances. All the Lowes in my area do their own wharehousing and deliveries. Around here Whisk has the scrap appliances tied up at Lowes. The smaller regionals like R. C. Willey do their own deliveries and the local stores put contracts out for the scrap.

I probably thinking homer-depot. Last appliance I bought came from them an it was an independent contractor. My bad.
But it might work for ho-de
